  Course Overview

5S is a method for workplace organisation which describes how to organise a workplace for maximum efficiency and effectiveness, using five Japanese words. Its main objective is to create a clean, orderly environment where there is a place for everything and everything is in its place. It is one of the most widely adopted techniques from the lean manufacturing toolbox.

This 5S Training is designed to provide knowledge of the different elements of 5S. Starting with the benefits of 5S to an organisation, it then looks at how to remove unnecessary items, equipment layout, storage methods, and visual management. As well as this, general cleaning, activity planning and resourcing will also be covered, and the concepts of red-tagging and auditing. By the end of the course, delegates will be able to maintain and improve standards and implement plan development.

About Swindon

Swindon competed to a central upsurge in its population. Swindon residents are known which covers 153 miles of bookshelves. It has headquarters of the National Trust and the English Heritage National Monument Record Centre. This town has the office of the Nationwide Building Society and a Honda car industrial plant.

Governance:

In 1974, the local council was established as the Borough of Thamesdown. It is out of the parts of Swindon Borough and Highworth Rural District. The borough industrialised a unitary authority on 1 April 1997, following an appraisal by the Local Government Command for England. The town is therefore no longer under the sponsorships of Wiltshire Council.

Climate:

Swindon has a nautical weather type, like all of the British Isles, with moderately mild winters and comparatively cool summers considering its latitude. The nearest official weather station is RAF Lyneham, about 10 miles west south-west of Swindon town centre. The elevation of weather station was 145 meters so it is cooler all over the year.
